Many people waste their efforts and energy on positions they are not qualified for and due to ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), most of these efforts go unnoticed. So, don’t waste your time applying for jobs you are over or underqualified for, it\’s just a waste of your valuable time.
An executive CV is a document that makes the case for a leader’s judgement, not a record of duties held. It is read by three different people in three different systems, and almost all published guidance is written as though only one of them exists.
Try to resist the edge to apply for just any and job in your field that gets posted. Streamline your search by mostly applying for jobs that you have adequate experience and qualifications for. This will increase your chances of securing interviews significantly.
Remember a professional CV is a marketing document, not a history book where you document your entire career journey. Stick to what is relevant and recent. Table the rest without going into too much detail unless that experience is relevant to the job you are applying for.
This is a great opportunity to display yourself as a good Culture/Team fit. Choose your attributes carefully and highlight the most relevant ones for the role, now is not the time to be modest, do not downplay your capabilities.
